This week Intel said it earned USD 533 million in revenues from sales of chips to the IoT market, and it expects that number to grow annually by 20% for several years to come, despite it only growing by 11% last year.  Intel is also the number one VC provider in this segment, according to recent CB Insights research. Sequoia Capital and Kleiner Perkins were also near the top of the ranking.  Elsewhere, Verizon, which provides data services for owners of Internet-connected systems and devices, says that the number of Internet connected devices in the business to business segment will grow to 5.4 billion – what that is worth in dollars in not clear. Frost & Sullivan has a new report on Disruptive Opportunities, as well.  (Image source: ABI /Verizon)
