Not in the past four years has it been as easy to issue stocks and securities to raise money for business growth, especially in the UK and Germany. According to the latest figures from dealogic, some USD 250 bn (983 deals) was raised this year on the capital markets, outpunching full year volumes over the last four years. UK is the top in EMEA, issuing 24% of the region’s total volume (USD 60.8 bn via 337 deals).
Germany ranks second with 13% (USD 33.6bn via 89 deals). IPO volume accounts for 28% of such deals, representing the second largest share of transactions (USD 70 bn via 262 IPOs). Even with two months left in the year, IPOs have already raised more money than in any other year since 2007 when USD 118 bn was raised in 648 IPOs. (Image source: dealogic)
