CharityStars – The Ebay for charity

by

Specifically for non-profit organisations
CharityStars is the first auction platform, similar to eBay, that raises money specifically for non-profit organisations. It has gained traction thanks to the generosity of celebrities and corporates. More than 200 celebrities and brands have used the platform including Maradona, James Blunt, David Coulthard, Ferrari, AC Milan, Disney and SkySport.
After an initial success and receptiveness in Italy (more than €1,2M raised for charity) we have now opened a new branch in London to grow in Europe. In 2014 we won the largest Italian startup competition (400 top startups) taking home the $360,000 first prize from 360CapitalPartner.
As to my background, I’ve started my first business 7 years ago when I was 19. I’ve founded the largest student community in Italy, ScuolaZoo.com, that now counts more than 2.2 million fans on Facebook, €7 mn annual turnover and 55 employees. Completely bootstrapped.
