Europe Looking to Improve Capital Markets

Some support for VC and PE is coming from EU policy makers, who just published a Green Paper on economic development in the region. It said, that compared with the US, medium-sized companies in the EU, which it sees as the engines of growth in many countries, receive five times less funding from capital markets.

If the EU venture capital markets were as deep, as much as EUR 90 billion of funds would have been available to finance companies between 2008 and 2013, it said.
