Study Says PE Increasingly Important in African Mid Market

December 5, 2013

As a result of rapid economic growth in the region, investors in private equity and venture capital are looking at opportunities in Africa. This year the region saw an increase in deal-making with 77 deals (as of November 2013) made across a wide range of sectors, according to Business Daily Online.

More importantly, African entrepreneurs are starting to be interested in PE and VC funding due to tighter bank financing. It is expected by industry insiders that more African entrepreneurs in the SME segment will invest for growth and be able to benefit from government and policy reforms underway in many African countries.
